Gratitude from Your CARD Directors

The CARD Gala may have a new name this year, but it will continue to reflect the same spirit of celebration, compassion, and care that is the foundation of all we do at CARD. For 33 years, CARD has been the heartbeat of our autism community, setting the standard of autism support for nearly 20,000 families, their loved ones, and all who aspire to be a meaningful part of their journey.

This year, we are so honored to have Joe and Grace Zumpano, longtime CARD champions and community leaders, chairing The CARD Gala. When we thought about who might take on this role, this is the first family that came to mind.  Their generosity and kindness have inspired so many of us in the autism community for years. They support our community in ways that most people will never know about because they do not seek the spotlight or recognition; they simply want to help make South Florida the best place it can be for all of us - but particularly those who are neurodivergent. We are humbled by their service.

We are also thrilled this year to honor the incomparable Haley Moss with the Cruz-Whitehurst Advocacy Award.  Haley, a CARD constituent for most of her life and former CARD Constituency Board member, has paved the way for so many by sharing her inspiring gifts (motivational speaker, neurodiversity expert, advocate, lawyer, artist, author, and more) and serving as a role model for all of us on how to live a life full of purpose, intent, and impact. Congratulations Haley!

We hope you all enjoy The CARD Gala this year and we thank you for your love, friendship, and support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Alessandri & Dr. Jennifer Durocher
